Health & Physical Education
In order for children to be able to grow and learn, it is essential that they be in a state of good physical, mental, and emotional health. The subjects of health and physical education focus on developing children’s attitudes and behaviors so that they will possess the motivation to practice health-enhancing behaviors even after graduation. These include, but are certainly not limited to the following behaviors:
• Good decision-making skills
• Goal-setting
• Nutrition decisions
• Sport skill development
• Adventure education
• Fitness goals
• Peer pressure refusal skills
• Conflict resolution skills
• Community and environmental health
Our goal is to instill in all students a love of oneself and a love of movement. If children learn at a young age the importance of making good decisions for their bodies, then they can learn anything and do anything to which they put their minds!
